Mar. 16th, 2007 @ 05:34 am How to Find the Right Man in Ten Minutes or Less...

We love good.

I mean, we call things "good" don't we? And what does that mean?

A. We like "good" things
B. Good is "morally excellent; virtuous"

We like morally excellent things. I understand the tendency to like "bad" things; but, I dare say, not because they are bad. We like bad things because we feel they are good to us: yes, we see bad in them; but, surely, they will be good to us. Who could find themselves affectionate towards a rude person while they are also rude to them? Unless they stubbornly, "hopefully", stick-it-out, waiting for their good side to show up, people don't handle badness well.

We like to think we like the person; but, it's probably more towards quality; and, that quality is goodness.

Maybe you can't find the right man or woman in ten minutes or less, but you could become one.
About this Entry
Feb. 27th, 2007 @ 09:04 pm A child

Both her and him are called "Beautiful";
not abiding by descriptions of romance,
it's genuine, so romance studies them!
"I love you" never could suffice;
what is, is always greater than, what is perceived:
Love > Sense:
the senses are weak.
It is love, not life, that makes people great,
and love needs them, who give life to love.

O Beautiful, to refuse this child,
is to wish a love left unborn;
I don't wish me without you:
you make me great.

Touching another person—carressing, stroking, squeezing, resting—can take place in, specifically two, very different ways.

I, even I, find it difficult to read that last sentence.Collapse )

there is something so momumentally universal about infatuation. you can't overcome it. it oversomes you.
it has the indecency to make you a sick lifeless piece of shit. and by it, i mean our minds. and our ability to love.
again i know, everyone is different and yet, it is so amazingly interesting to see how much we are the same. life
is such a simple concept and yet so complex at the same time. i would preach to you about how you should live your
life, but i am already enough of a hypocrite as it is. we can feel the exact same way as everyone else and still
not have a shred of appreciation or sympathy for the other person. we will always change, but our eternal quest
for love will always be the most basic, barbaric part of us, no matter how much we try not to succome to it. i
imagine in a few weeks i will get over the boy of whom i know nothing about, yet feel insanely attacted to as
if we are magnetically pulled together, both mentally and phycisally, but for now he is the only thing i dream about
he is the only thing i will do nothing about. & excuse me for name dropping but i think e.e. cummings said it best:
"god knows why.
and so do i.
because they are afraid to love."

Some of my favorite letters are the rawest. I like when things can be said with pure passion, and without forcing beautiful words. The romance becomes something real as opposed to some pre-packaged ideal society seems to constantly shove down our throats. I'm pretty sure it's been shared here before, but it can't hurt a second time. Here's a link to a few dirty letters written by James Joyce. I once questioned their authenticity, but was told by a friend of mine majoring in English (he was studying Joyce's literature at the time) that he believes them to be legit -- his professor read some of them in class. Either way I don't care, I think they're excellent. These letters are adult in nature, just to warn you.
